San Diego's Italian Japanese recently released their new single. "Two Islands" is a nostalgic & dreamy love song with lots of fuzzy guitars shaking in and out. It is the kind of music that I personally reserve for hot summer days at the beach here in San Diego. Sadly for some of you Winter is still in full effect, so hopefully Italian Japanese can keep the faith alive, SUMMER IS COMING!
Frontman Allen Nicholas says of the track: "It's a relationship song about being in love with someone and then realizing that you're basically living on two different islands and there's no way this is going to work. It's coming to the realization that this person that you want to be with, it's impossible, it's just not going to work out."
So even if the message is a little disheartening, it is presented in a very mellow way, leaving it to be a song that you can play repeatedly without crying in bed. Who does that, anyway? me neither.
